game progress

Last week our team discovered something that will slow down progress for a while. During our coding we discovered that we need to make the background on our game much larger. So as of now we are working on our backgrounds before we can begin coding again. We did discover what was making our character's movements laggy and have fixed that problem. Our team is working harder than ever and we should be finished on time.

Prophecy

Recently a Muslim prophet said that the reason all of the earthquakes have been happening is because of women wearing scantily clad clothing. If they truly believe this, I will have to respectfully disagree. I do not think that God would choose to kill all kinds of people because of the fashion choices of women all around the world. Perhaps this prophet was on something during the time of this interview.

Progress on Game

Right now in our game progress we have completed all of the visuals for our game. We are still working on the coding and are having some problems with it. This week we hope to have our enemies functioning fully and ready to go. Our game is platform game and we hope that it will run something like the Super Mario Bros. games. The actionscript problems have hindered our progress, but we are pushing through.

If I were a God

If I were a God I wouldn't change too too much in the world. I guess if I had the power to I would move all of the hardcore criminals to mars and leave all the productive members of society to further the world. I wouldn't force anyone to do something they didn't want to because people still need their free will. In the end I would probably realize that I am not fit to be God like Jim Carey in Bruce Almighty.

plans for spring break

During spring break I will be traveling to Italy and Greece with the Marshall University Booth Scholars program. We start out in Florence, Italy and travel south throughout Italy and Greece. This will be an awesome trip and will be something to remember for a lifetime. Along with the Spring Valley Booth Scholars I will be going with Scholars from Wayne and Tolsia as well. I'm sure we will have a great time and be exposed to many new and interesting things.

Super power

Today's blog question is about which super power I would choose if given the opportunity to choose one. This has been a question that I have thought about many times. If i had the opportunity to choose a super power I would for sure choose the ability to teleport. Teleportation would be the greatest power for many reasons. First off I would begin my own company that would replace airlines because I could get people places in the blink of an eye and quickly become the richest person in the world. Also I could travel anywhere and that would be a great perk because you could spend parts of your day wherever you choose. Imagine waking up and going on a jog on the beach in Florida, stop by for lunch at you favorite Italian pizzeria, and party all night in Vegas. This would be the coolest life ever.

Spring Break

This spring break was probably the best that I have ever had. I went with the Marshall University Booth Scholars program to tour Italy and Greece. This trip was definitely a once in a lifetime experience and I will never forget a moment of it. I made many good friends and got closer to others. My favorite place we visited was probably the Sistine Chapel, which was painted by Michael Angelo. The Paintings in this chapel we breathtaking and it was amazing. I also got to see the Pope in Easter Sunday which was amazing as well.

spring break

During this spring break I will be on one of the best trips I have ever had. I will be traveling with the Booth Scholars Program to Italy and Greece. We are going to be traveling to all sorts of interesting spots in those countries. This is a ten day trip and is going to be awesome. The only bad thing about going on this trip is I will not be able to watch my Mountaineers pwn the Dookies and whoever the winner of Michigan State vs. Butler is. There is little doubt in my mind that whenever I return home I will be returning to West Virginia, home of the NATIONAL CHAMPS.

FAV Athlete

Today blog question is who is my favorite athlete. This is without a doubt the easiest question I have had to answer all year. My favorite athlete is without a doubt RANDY MOSS. I love Randy for many reasons and he has been my hero ever since he stepped in at Marshall. Randy has had to deal with more adversity than almost any other sports figure that I can think of, and he has not let it tear him down, instead it has built him into the model citizen that he is today. One quality that I love about Randy is that he will tell you exactly how he feels and not think twice about it. He is a classic rags to riches story from one of the poorest cities in America to a multi-millionaire, and he always is involved with charity and has given back to the schools that he attended when he was younger. Throughout most of his NFL career he was given a bad rep but he has worked hard to get rid of that image and the New England Patriots all love having him as there number 1 reciever slot. hopes

By the end of this quarter I would like to have my game finished. We would probably already be finished by now, but have been slowed by our problems with flash. Our levels a fully completed as of now and we are on the stage of coding, which has become a large problem for our group. Hopefully we will have some breakthroughs with our flash and complete our game in the near future. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Other teams

If I had to pick another team's game that I really like I would have to choose the game being made by the team Oily Bacon Fat. There game is titled "Going Green" and it feature Al Gore. The object of this game is to destroy the gas guzzling cars by jumping on top of them. I like the overall message of this game and the gameplay is one of the best in the class as of right now, so that is why I chose them.

this class

There are many good and bad things about the class game design. Some of the good things about it are getting to work in flash and working with a partner to finish projects. One of the main things that I don't like about this class is the actionscripts in flash. There should definitely be a class on actionscripts before game design because it is very confusing once you get to game design trying to work with them when you have no background on them.

progress

Our game is making very fast progress right now. We have successfully programed our gorilla to move across the screen and we are now working on the actions of the enemies in the game. Our game will still take a good deal of time to finish, but with the progress that we are making right now it will fly by. There is no doubt in my mind that our game will pwn our arch enemy's game which was poorly title " Going Gore" it is pretty pathetic compared to the detail that has gone into our game.

internet

There is not denying that the Internet has made great contributions to our society, but in my opinion it has made America, in general, lazier. Before the internet people had to spend hours going to libraries researching information about a topic, not it takes a couple of clicks of the mouse and you have an endless supply of knowledge on a topic. The internet has made pretty much everything easier for our society, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it does take away from our work ethic.

Movie

If there was one movie that described my life thus far it would have to be Napoleon Dynamite. In the movie Napoleon Dynamite he has to put up with his family, which I have to do. He also has a great passion for Ligers, as do I. He is an amazing dancer when he performed at his school talent show, I also have been known to bust a move every once in a while. Napoleon Dynamite is the man.

SVHS

Today's question is about whether or not I would send my child to Spring Valley High School. I think I would feel comfortable sending my child to Spring Valley for an education. I like the overall environment that Spring Valley provides and I think, for the most part, that the general student population is a nice one. This would all depend on me having a good job in this area and a nice house.

progress

Right now game progress is continuing to progress. Today I will be working on extra life quizzes and Zak will continue to work on the screen shots. I think we will be able to start the coding in the near future. My group will continue to work and we will then see where we are at.

Olympic

There have been many memorable moments in the Olympics in my lifetime, but one memory stands out above the rest. Whenever Michael Phelps was on his epic conquest in the 2008 summer games had one of the most exciting moments in sports history. During one of his races he was behind the entire race but somehow found a way to pull off the win in one of the smallest margins of victory imaginable. That memory sticks out far above the others.

Breakfast food

The title for today's blog is breakfast food, so I will tell you about some of my favorite things to eat for breakfast. If I had to choose one breakfast meal before I die I would choose the blueberry crepes at Bob Evans. They are absolutely amazing, and a couple of biscuits with it makes it that much better. I would probably weigh at least 500 pounds if that was what I ate for dinner everyday.

Future

In the future I would like it to be pretty much like star wars. I would probably be like the Yoda of our culture. I would want a space ship that could take me anywhere I wanted to go in the galaxy. Also, it would be pretty cool to have a droid that would do anything I wanted it to do. A droid would make life much easier on humans and it would be awesome to have them as servants. That sums up what a cool future would be.

Funny story

One funny story I have is when I got into a fight on my first day for kindergarten. It was my first day of school and one of the bigger kids in class decided he would like to start bullying me and shove me off the bleachers. That didn't work out to well for him because I went right back up to him and gave him a pretty good punch to the stomach. That was the last time he tried to bully me that year.

Best thing that has happened

The best thing that has ever happened to me is when I beat Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In doing this i defeated the terrorist threat that was going to eventually destroy the entire United States. The game was totally awesome and I want to beat it again soon. My favorite level was whenever you are stuck in a snowstorm surrounded by terrorist.

The worst thing ever

The worst thing that has ever happened to me is when we lost our last game of the year in football. We had a fantastic year up until that point and it really sucked to lose in the playoffs. We had worked all year with the goal of winning a playoff game and it didn't work our for us, but that is how life goes and we have to move on. Hopefully the teams in the years to come can peak at the right time.

Winter

I love many things about winter. One of my favorite things is snow, which is very fun to play in and also gets you out of school! I also love all of the holidays that take place during the winter season and family fellowship that happens. I am not a fan of cold weather, though, but it is tolerable because of the possibility of snow. I also hate driving in ice, I almost wrecked last year because of it, but thankfully did not.

Break

This year's holiday break was a much needed break from school and other stresses. During this break I spent a lot of time visiting with the family members I had not seen in a long time. My brother and I completed the New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii, which was a very fun adventure. I also hung out at a lot of friends houses and chilled with them. Christmas was awesome.
